Good day all,
1. I ordered via telephone a Toshiba A45-250 on Tuesday eve and requested 2nd day shipping (at cost..$'s). Credit card charged Wednesday at some point.
2. I called Wednesday at noon because I had doubts that I had the model number correct. The guy on the phone confirmed I had the correct model number; he also said it shipped at 8:00am Wednesday. he also confirmed second day shipping.
3. I called Friday noon to ask for a tracking number; the gent on the phone said he needed to call the shipper for that - he took my phone number and said he would call back. He had not prior to the next call.
4. I called at 2:15 Friday (1.25 hours later after no callback) and I was told the item drop shipped from CA and would not be to the Boston area until Tuesday.
5. He said it was standard delivery. I said it was supposed to be 2nd day. He said wait a minute and I will check. He came back and said 2nd day was confirmed but delivery will not be until the FOLLOWING Tuesday. I said I would refuse delivery and go local. THEN HE SUGGESTED A MUCH HIGHER MODEL AT SAME TOTAL PRICE ($350 saving to me for this new item - not sure what hassles might follow that option...)!!! AND NEXT DAY DELIVERY (I needed it the laptop before Monday) I thought about it, but decided what I needed was the one I originally ordered; so I am going to refuse delivery of the original order. I contacted VISA and opened a ticket to cover my #$% (CYA).
I actually luck out, after doing all that, I found circuit city had just offered $200 rebate... So, now I don't pay shipping, insurance, etc and get it for $150 less....
All in all, I received prompt phone service and kind people. I had no 'run around' (could have had that later, but benefit of the doubt...).
The only real thing that I am saying here is delivery was definitely going to be late... I can not provide info beyond that...
