Pros: Good optics
Cons: Poor firmware. Unreliable performance. Kept locking up requiring many reboots.
The Bottom Line: Don't purchase this camera until they work out the bugs. Firmware including 3.0 and earlier are poorly written.

We purchased one unit for testing (considering it was a new product from Toshiba). The optics are great. It produces great images in low light (.03 lux). But the firmware and functionality of the camera are poor. Originally I had trouble getting it to work with my wireless LAN. I called tech support and described my environment. We have a Toshiba SG20 server (w/wireless access point) and a Dlink wireless router. Considering this is a Toshiba camera, the Toshiba support staff didn't know what the Toshiba SG20 was but was very familiar with the Dlink router. We ended up determining that the camera had trouble with the two access points so I had to turn one off to make the camera work. Tech support confirmed this issue. This will be a problem when implementing in large locations that have multiple access points for greater coverage.
As I worked on configuring the unit and working with their tech support, we found that it worked sporadically with the FTP feature and the email alerting. It just seemed buggy and tech support indicated that the problems should be resolved with the upcoming firmware (v3.0). Once this was available, I tried it and it still had trouble. So at this point decided that the camera was not worth the price.
We've worked with tech support numerous times. After losing patience with it, I gave access to them to try to configure it and make it work. Even their tech support was unsuccessful. They recommended that we try replacing the unit with a new one. They set up an RMA and it took over a week after they received the unit to send out new one (despite commitments to have it sooner). Even the new unit stopped working.
I wouldn't recommend this camera to anyone. Despite the great feature set that they advertise, the camera simply doesn't work as hoped.
