Pros:Choose your own compression. Great overall program.
Cons:Not very popular
The Bottom Line: WinRAR lets you use .zip or .rar formats. It gives users the versatility and choices they deserve.
Everybody comes across files that are zipped and that require a program to unzip them. Zipped files are all over the internet since the conserve storage space and bandwidth. But what program should you use with these files?
WinRAR is my compression program of choice. It not only can it zip and unzip files like Winzip does, but it also lets you enjoy the superior compression ratios of compressing your data with as rars. If you have a file that needs optimum compression, WinRAR lets you choose maximum compression. If you are willing to sacrifice some compression for speed, WinRar lets you do that too.
I love WinRar's interface too. It is very intuitive and easier to use than other compression utilities I've tried. My favorite is that it allows you to estimate how small any folder or group of folders would be compressed to with various compression ratios. This is a very handy feature.
With all these features, I recommend you make WinRAR your choice for your file compression needs.
