Re: Central America Travel, et al.................... (Reply to this comment)

Why does it sound as I have just read Frommers or Lonely Planet? Why do you entitle the article safeguards when traveling in Central America, and then proceed to talk only of the atypical Central American country of Costa Rica?
Far toooooooooooo general and deals with one of the countries of C.A.--what about Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, or possibly even Panama, even though I understand that it is often considered the gateway country to South America and, as thus, not geographically correct to include in the 5 (five) C.A. countries,? Are they all the same in terms of preparation, safety precautions, et al? Not in my experience; they are as unique as New York v. California!

We had a foreign student live with us for a year from Costa Rica many years ago. We have since met here when she won on a trip to America. We plan to go visit her one of these times, but she travels a lot, but one day we want to visit this beautiful country.
