Just got an xB (Reply to this comment)
by smokeydadog
I'm 32 and recently traded my highly problematic 05 Frontier for an xB. So far I love it. Great gas mileage, huge interior, and tons of available aftermarket goodies. I camp a lot so I wanted a hatch, preferably one I could sleep in if need be. Soon I'll find out how well the Scion works for that. As for the styling, eh...it's definitely Japanese. At least it's not another boring Civic.

Thanks for the comment.
I haven't seen any data on the age distribution of xB owners. But the Honda Element has somewhat similar styling, and despite being aimed at young men primarily attracted middle-aged men.

It's not necessarily about age (Reply to this comment)

Just thought I'd comment that while this is a good review, the focus on age doesn't add up. I purchased my 2004 Scion xB at age 47 August 2003. I'm 49 now and I'm still loving it. I've also talked to owners in their 60s who also love it--and not just for price. I think Scion xB is a love it or hate it car. Some people just really enjoy that unique look, some don't. Some get it...alas, some don't. Toyota went for the younger generation (30 and below). What they got was all age groups, even the oldsters. Just my two cents worth.

I personally hate the shape, or lack-there-of on the xB, but obviously a fair amount of people like it (fair meaning enough that they're probably making money off of it)
