I purchased my first new car since 1979 a month ago. Obviously, it was the PT cruiser described above. I love this car!
I picked it up during a snowstorm here in Denver, CO. I was a little anxious because, as I said, I have not had a new car for years and thus did not want to start the new car experience out with some type of damage on the way home from the car dealership.
I was in the car not more than one minute and I felt completely comfortable even with the snow falling so heavy. I needed to quickly turn on the defroster so the windshield wouldn't fog up and it was very easy to find.
I have to adjust my mirrors often because I am short and have to move the seat way up to drive and then way back to get out. So, it is important to have mirrors that are easy to adjust. The lever to adjust the mirrors is in a perfect place for me.
Also, the radio tuning and adjustments were so easy. I didn't even have to read the manual to figure out how to set my favorite stations.
The "trunk" or space behind the back seat to haul things in is great. No bending down to pull things out that slid under the back seat section like I did with my last car which had a normal albeit, large, trunk.
Also, there is a shelf that you can adjust the height of so you actually have two layers of space to pack things in back there.
The head room is great for my husband who always has trouble with his head hitting the roof of almost all cars.
Last, but not least, I simply have loved the looks of these cars since they came out. We waited to see if the novelty would wear off and I wouldn't like them after a couple years. Needless to say, the novelty did not wear off and the fact that I could get a beautiful red one pushed me over the edge to buy a new car.
Now, if they only would find a way to have this car be self-washing. . . . .
