"This game sounds like a real blast! I'd love to play in a game along the lines of the classic adventures of Alan Quartermain or Professor Challenger. Thanks for telling us about it! "
It's perfect for that kind of game. It isn't even really my genre (not that I don't enjoy the genre, but it isn't my favorite), and I had a lot of fun with it!
"You have a nice review style, too, with great descriptions of the game mechanics and other features; and the title suits both the review and the game brilliantly. Good work!"
Thank you! It's always a bit tricky doing RPG reviews on epinions. The hard part is always finding a balance between trying to put in enough basic info for non-roleplayers to kind of understand what you're saying and not boring the roleplayers. Also between putting in enough information about the mechanics for the roleplayers to be satisfied without boring and losing the non-roleplayers. And then there's trying to keep the review from ending up so long that no one wants to bother reading it. That's probably the trickiest part. :)

I think Terra Incognita is a great game for the casual gamer.
Unlike the Stargate RPG, which is almost 500 pages! Although it's an awfully fun 500 pages, at least...

Uh... I don't have any comments 1/10 as interesting as Tom's. But this does sound like a terribly handy game: my friends are typically sane, no matter how little that explains their decisions to be my friends, and they don't like investing hours and hours into learning a game. Now they can explore buried ancient civilizations and have tea anyway? Dude.
cheers,

"But that's simply me and certainly not your review."
Oh good. Otherwise I'd have to seriously wonder about my review-writing ability that it was having such unintentional side-effects. ;)

Somehow I am left with the mental image of Rush Limbaugh sitting around a table with a bunch of feminists eating from a pan of chocolate treats.
But that's simply me and certainly not your review.
This sounds like it would be an excellent introduction to RPGs. Or a suitable alternative for those worried about 'the dark side' of other games.
Very nicely done.
