Orange You Glad You Used Pine-Sol?!?

| LILvoyce's Full Review: Pine-Sol Orange Energy All Purpose Cleaner |
I have always been an avid user of Pine-Sol. My favorite scent happens to be the Original and the Meadow Fresh scents. There is a huge wave of Orange scented cleaners out now and I wanted to see what the rave was about just like everybody else, so I thought I would pick up a bottle of Pine-Sol Orange Energy in the 1.5 Qts bottle. It claims be newly formulated so of course I wanted to try it.
This new formula claims that you don't have to mop with dirty water again. It is suppose to take dirt from your mop and pull it to the bottom of the bucket, so that it won't spread the dirt back on to the surface you are trying to clean.
I normally buy Pine-Sol to do the surface cleaning. I buy it because I like the smell of this product. People can walk into my home and say "WOW, it smells so clean in here!" I suppose I could use other products but I can't get that same clean scent that I do without the help from Pine-Sol. I also buy it because it is usually on sale at Wal-mart for under three dollars.
The New Orange Energy Scent
Three out of the four people who live in my home loved the new Orange Energy Scent. I was the odd man and did not quiet care for the scent as much as I do the other scents that Pine-Sol make. My husband came home and wanted to know where the orange cake was? Me bake an orange cake?!? Fat chance. He kept smelling the Pine-Sol Orange Energy.
My Son walked in and wanted to know where the Orange Tang was. He was searching the fridge and could not find any. "Sorry Son, it is the Orange Energy you are smelling."
My daughter liked the smell because she felt is was not as strong as the other Pine-Sol scents. She is normally the one who uses Pine-Sol products to was the floor and she appreciates the milder scent.
How It Works On The Floor
Well to tell you the truth my daughter has a wild obsession with washing the kitchen floor. I let her wash it now as part of her chores. She has a pet-peeve about floors. She can't stand feeling anything but clean on our floors. In the past I have tried using other no name off brand pine cleaners. They have not measured up to what the Pine-Sol products can. I agree with her when she says that the other brands leave our floor feeling sticky.
With the new and improved Pine-Sol Orange Energy we have not experienced the sticky feeling. We have not noticed any residue either. I prefer to get the floor clean any way I can. I like to use a mop and sometimes I will use my steam cleaner. Since my daughter has taken over the floors she prefers to do them by hand. She will make a gallon bucket filled with warm/hot water and then add 1/4 of a cup of Orange Energy to the water. With other brands she ends up having to add more and change the water more often. With the orange energy she can clean the entire floor with a gallon bucket of prepared cleaner.
My daughter does not like to use a sponge when cleaning the floor. She prefers a white piece of terry cloth. She feels that this will pick up more particles on the floor. She is very happy that she can wash the floor with the Orange Energy Pine-Sol and does not have to go back and rinse with clean water. It is a one step process, which saves a lot of time. Pine-Sol Orange energy even picks up the ground in food my younger son leaves on the floor. He makes a huge mess when when he is eating at the table. No more greasy spots where he sits. It works great on our padded chairs as well.
Other Uses
While she is hand washing the floor, I will get a bucket and make myself a gallon of prepared cleaner. I will take a sponge and wash down the outside fridge and the freezer. It leaves them shiny and fresh smelling. I also like to wash down the outside of the washer and dryer. My dryer and washer seem to get dusty from lint and washing powders. Washing them down with Orange Energy make my laundry room look new again.
I will also wash down the sides of my dishwasher. Usually there are some sort of grease splatters, and other food stains. Pine-Sol orange energy cleans them all in a swipe.
I also like to wipe down my doors and door knobs with Pine-Sol. My doors are metal and finished with a white paint. Smokers that like to smoke in my house leave my living room door tinted off white with their smoke. I can go by and take my doors from a dull off white to a gleaming bright white with the help from Pine-Sol.
Sometimes I will wipe down the outlet covers too. I like the feel of the Pine-Sol. It is not greasy when it dries. I never see any residue.
I will add a bit of Pine-Sol full strength to my garbage cans on Wednesday which happens to be trash day. I will swish it around and let it set for several minutes. I will take a scrub brush to them and rinse it down with the hose outside.
Pine-Sol claims that you can use this product in toilet bowls, pet areas, diaper pails, Tubs, and showers. I have not used this product in these areas before. It is not that I wouldn't, I had just never thought about it before. I probably would not use it in my toilet bowls, just because of the warning on the bottle. I do have pets and would fear from them drinking from the toilet.
Warning on the bottle itself:
EYE IRRITANT: Do not get in eyes. For sensitive skin or prolonged use , wear rubber gloves.
FIRST AID: EYES- immediately rinse with water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists call a doctor.
IF SWALLOWED- Drink a glassful of water and call a doctor or poison control center
Contains; Nonionic surfactants, triethanolamine
Overall
Overall, I love Pine-Sol Orange Energy as a general all purpose cleaner. I hate using a bunch of different products to clean. Most of the time I can get away with using one bottle of Orange Energy Pine-Sol to clean just about everything in the home for that day, with the exception of maybe a window cleaner, and wood cleaner.
I will use other products don't get me wrong, but nine times out of ten I will purchase Pine-Sol, or grab it from my shelf from home. For a general clean Pine-Sol is a must for me.
Pine-Sol's Claims - Don't Mop With Dirty Water Again -
To tell you the truth, I have not noticed any difference from this new formula compared to the old formula. I still highly recommend this product in spite of the claims.
