Re: Great review! (Reply to this comment)

Jason,
I wish I could speak to the software features, but I could not install it; I updated the review to reflect my experiences with the install process.
True, connecting the card to a USB version 1.1 connection would degrade performance, but, for those using the card for an Internet gateway the speed difference would be negligible, though I will admit money would be better spent on a 802.11b device.
I did try moving the antenna in different angles to gauge reception to no avail.

Great review! (Reply to this comment)

I have never used a USB wireless adapter, as I have a spare PCI card slot for my Aironet 350 PCI card. Interesting read...
How is the software package with this adapter? Can you move the antenna and watch an on-screen graph to see if the signal is better or worse? You also might want to let people know not to buy this if all they have is USB 1.1 compatible ports. USB 1.1 would limit the transfer to 12MB/s anyway, so they should buy a 802.11b in that case, if available! As usual, a great review!

Yes that is what I meant. Equipment that conforms to the 802.11g standard can transmit and receive at speeds of between 1 -54 Megabytes per second, while the 802.11b standard is rated at .5 11 Mbps.
