You and I have sooo much in common.....
We lived in Zell, just outside of Wurtzburg, when my husband was in the army for 3 years. My daughter was born there....Marianberg castle was my favorite place along with the Residenz platz and the Kaufhauf deptartment store...LOL Our apt was situated right on the Main river...
Boy are we going to have a lot to talk about while looking for whales this September.....Oh, BTW, have a great cruise on May...try to get to Menton if you can...or at least Eze...
I loved this review brought back a lot of fond memories,,

Thanks for leaving a comment. I'm glad you had a chance to visit this area of Germany, it's quite different from other parts of the country. I'm 'slightly' prejudiced, of course!!!!

My husband and I were absolutely charmed by the Moselle region. Those vineyards are impossibly steep! Burg Eltz was one of the highlights of our entire trip. It's like finding Sleeping Beauty's castle hidden in the forest. Your review brought back great memories.
