Ease of Use:
Pros:Well padded, lots of adjustments avail, easy to fasten in car except in middle
Cons:overhead shield makes seat very wide,"arms" hit other children next to it in face
The Bottom Line: Get 5pt harness instead If you have a large van see how high it goes and if it stick out the door Replacing a headliner could be very expensive.
The seat itself is ok, except for me since I have twins I need 2. When both seats are installed the 3rd seat in my car is no longer available, not even for a very small child. With a small child the overhead arms would hit the child in the face. Another drawback is when you own a vehicle like mine. I have a GMC Jimmy and when the seat is installed next to the door it's too wide and sticks out of the car. Difficult to install a seat in the middle-difficult to stabilize - and with 2 you can't put them both in the middle anyway. Another problem I have is when I am driving my car without the babies and the overhead arms aren't buckled down, they severly obstruct my view and they also hit the headliner of my car. I would like the seat alot better in another car, and also if I only needed 1 instead of 2. But it is a well padded carseat and alot of adjustments to help it fit the baby and it has a "trap door" in the center of the front of the seat (where the baby sits back on) that opens up making threading of the seatbelt alot easier.
Another thing I've noticed since my babies are now older and I have the seats forward facing is that the seats do not recline when in the car forward facing. There is a reclining option for rear facing, but not forward. The seats sit straight up and aren't reclined at all, so when the babies fall asleep their heads fall forward.
