Written: Mar 21 '04
Pros:No harsh chemicals,pleasant fragrance
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: If you want to keep your Stainless Steel looking clean and shiny, then this Hope's Polish is the one to use.

Are you like me and have your stainless steel pot's and pan's displayed in your kitchen area? Well I like to keep these pots and pans clean and nice and shiny, especially being their hanging on my brick wall in my kitchen.

I have white brick between my cabinets and my counter area and on the side of my kitchen stove. I keep my kitchen utensils, two stainless steel frying pans, 2 pot's, 1 quart stainless steel vegetable colander and also a 3 quart stainless vegetable colander also hanging up on my brick wall next to my stove.

Over time I have used several cleaning products for cleaning my stainless steel. I have used powder's, paste's and once I did use a Stainless Steel aerosol cleaner to clean my stainless steel. They all worked nicely, but now I have this new cleaner that I use that's called Hope Company Stainless Steel Polish 8SS12 that I like even better, because it not only cleans well but also gives my stainless steel a beautiful shine.

I really got started using the Hope Stainless Steel polish at my daughter's house last November. She had sold her house and had to move into an apartment, because she was having a bigger home that was being built. The day after she moved I went over to help her clean up the house that she was moving out of. While she vacuumed and cleaned the bathroom, I cleaned the kitchen area for her. On the counter was this Hope Stainless Steel Polish, which is a polish and a cleaner as well, that she wanted me to use to clean out her stainless steel sink with, which I did. It really did a nice job on her stainless steel sink. There was a little left in the bottle, and she told me to just throw it into the garbage. I like trying new cleaning products so I decided to take what little was left in the bottle and took it home to try it out on my Stainless Steel pots and pans.

The next day I cleaned my 2 frying pans with the Hope Stainless Steel Polish and was pleasantly surprised to see how well it cleaned and even made my pans so much shinier then other cleaners that I had used before. I used up what was left in the bottle, and then I spotted the Bed Bath&Beyond sticker on the front of the container. It had a price of $3.99 on it also. So the next morning off I went to our Bed Bath&Beyond store and purchased a bottle.

After shaking the bottle well and with just a easy squeeze of the bottle, a nice white creamy lotion will come out. It's a micro-fine mild formula that can be used on stainless steel surfaces that require a mild abrasive cleaning action.

THE HOPE STAINLESS STEEL POLISH WILL CLEAN AND REMOVE THE FOLLOWING:

It will remove tough stains and any discolorations
Water spots
Hard water scale
Surface rust
Soap scum

DIRECTIONS ON USING:

The very first thing to be done is to shake the bottle up well. You can use a soft cloth, but I prefer to use a nice soft sponge. Then I applied the polish and rubbed the surface gently using long even strokes until my stainless steel looked cleaned. Avoid using a circular rubbing action. If you have heavy soiling or staining you may have to repeat the application a second time.

Although the bottle states that after cleaning you just need to rinse it off well and towel dry it. But I like to wash any stainless steel after it's been cleaned in soapy water and then rinse it off well and dry it with a towel.

After I had used the Hope Polish on my 2 frying pans, I decided to to use it on all of my everyday stainless steel flatware. I have never used any kind of cleaners like this on my flatware before. I took all of my flatware out and place it all in my kitchen sink. On the other side of my sink I had my dish pan filled with warm soapy water. One by one I rubbed the polish on each piece and then placed each piece in the dishpan. After all of my flatware was cleaned, I washed it all out good in the soapy water, and then rinsed off each piece with water and laid it all on a clean dish towel. I then took each piece and towel dried it thoroughly.

I was really thrilled with the results. My flatware hasn't looked this good in years. It was bright and shiny and a few discolorations that were on some of the flatware had all disappeared. I noticed after I was done cleaning the flatware that the sponge had some nasty black stains on it. I then realized just how dirty my flatware had become.

Now I started to look around my kitchen to see what other stainless steel I could clean up and polish. That's when I decided to clean my 4 square stainless steel burner wells on my kitchen stove top. Now mind you I've had my stove for over 20 years and all I've ever done was soak the burner wells in soapy water whenever they got food stuck on them from cooking. One by one I took each burner well and rubbed the polish on well, washed it off in warm soapy water and then rinsed each one off and towel dried each one. I couldn't believe the luster that it added to to the original finish. I haven't seen them this shiny since I purchased my stove years ago. They looked so great that I didn't want to cook that night in fear that I would spot and dirty them all up again.

But I did find that by using the Hope Stainless Steel polish and cleaner on the burner wells, made cleanup a lot easier when they become dirty, because of the barrier that the polish left on all 4 of my burner wells.

After that I took all of my stainless steel kitchen utensils down and cleaned and polished them also along with my 2 Stainless Steel vegetable colanders. The Colander's were fairly new and still had their nice shine, so I didn't see a whole lot of difference. But I know by using the Hope Polish and cleaner, all of my stainless steel will stay looking great for a long time to come, as long as I continue to keep using this Hope Stainless Steel Polish.

There are no ingredients listed on the bottle, but I've found the polish was free of any harsh chemicals and was very safe and pleasant to my hands while I used it. I didn't experience any burning or irritation on my hands after the first time that I used it, so there was no need for me to have to wear gloves.

The fragrance of the Hope Polish was not caustic smelling. It has a very nice clean and pleasant smell to it, which makes cleaning a lot more enjoyable to do, especially when you don't have to inhale nasty smells while your cleaning.

NOTE:

Before using the polish it's always best to apply the polish on a hidden area first to make sure that you get the results that you expect. It's also best to keep the Hope Stainless Steel polish up and away from children when it's not in use. It could cause eye irritation, and because the polish has such a nice smell to it, it may make a child want to swallow some of the polish.

MY FINAL THOUGHTS:

The Hope Stainless Steel polish and cleaner doesn't require a lot of vigorous rubbing when cleaning and I found it very easy to apply. It's creamy formula left all of my stainless steel bright and clean, without any streaks or scratching. I like the way it cleans, shines and protects all in one application to the finish on my stainless steel cookware, flatware, cooking utensils as well as my burner wells. Stainless steel is not stain or rust proof so proper maintenance with a routine cleaning of a mild soap and warm water will maintain it's luster. And if you do get a stain or some discoloration, try this Hope Company Stainless Steel polish. It will get the job done for you and possibly save you from having the need for a replacement.
