At one time, I had my own jewelry store, and sold pearls at tremendously high prices. My brother owns a jewelry store on Maui, and HE sells real pearls at a premium price. This is to allow you to understand that I know my pearls. Recently, I started watching a different television show than I normally do, in order to watch for better deals....great quality, low price. I want to share with you my findings!
On this television show that does sell only jewelry, I was able to purchase real 10mm, perfectly round, true Tahitian black pearl studs for the 'close out' price of the evening, for the grand total of $15.99 a pair! Now, these are not junk! These would cost me a high amount at any jewelry store I have been into, and I am constantly checking prices at stores. If you wonder what the shipping price was, it was not high. I bought three pair, as I am a great fan of true Tahitian black pearls that are large enough to be proud of! Since I bought more than one pair, I received a discount on shipping. The shipping was $9.50 for all of the earrings that I purchased. The breakdown in shipping goes like this: The first item purchased is $5.50, if you buy a second, it drops to $2.50 for that one, and stays at that price for anything else you order during that particular segment. What if I hadn't liked what I received? I had 30 days to return them, and to receive a full refund! Now, I did not return them! They are exactly as described and shown! They are full of color, perfectly round, and the size is correct. The backing is secure in 14kt gold!
How would I know if they were real pearls? I have always used the time honored way of putting a pearl to my front tooth and rubbing that pearl, to make sure it makes my tooth feel as though it is feeling a salty type of scratching is happening. That is the way all my jewelry selling relatives do it, and that is the way it has been done for centuries. I trust the test.
You may be wondering, how large a 10mm pearl is. The best way that I can think to help you visualize this is to realize that most of the higher selling pearls that you would see in a store are around 6mm a pearl. A strand, normally 18", has 52 pearls in the necklace, and they would normally be 6mm if you buy well.
Who wants to know where I wait for the special of the day, the super deal that is ridiculously low priced, and absolutely a steal? Assuming some one said, "I Do!", I will tell you that I am watching ACNtv. All they sell is jewelry. Now,understand this. When you begin watching this jewelry show, you must learn to understand how it works. It doesn't work like QVC or any of the other shows I have seen.
First a round tray of jewelry will be presented, as it turns slowly. There will be no price on that jewelry! That bothered me, at first. Then, I listened, and heard them say that the reason was that if they gave you the bottom dollar pricing, right away, you would not understand how much the jewels were/are worth. But, don't let that bother you. The host or hostess will explain the jewels to you, one by one, and you are allowed to call and ask for a particular 'find' on that tray to be discussed. The prices go down, as the show goes along. When you call the number on the screen, you are able to ask any questions regarding the piece you are admiring. You may ask what the final price will be. Be ready for a pleasant shock, when the operator tells you that the final price is hundreds less than it may be advertising for, at that moment! Remember, everything is guaranteed to your liking. If you don't like it, no questions need to be answered. Just send your buy back for a refund!
I enjoy this channel, that is 367 on my direct t.v.. This company ONLY sells jewelry. That makes it an easy decision to look for what I want in jewelry, to start with! They sell loose stones at really low prices, as well as snap in castings that allow YOU to make your own jewelry, should you desire! What fun that is! Every day, this channel has a question to be answered for a fancy, jeweled gift. The question will be about jewelry. The question will gain more and more hints as the day goes along. This can be viewed on your computer. Just type in ACNtv on your browser, and you will see the question and hints of the day. There are always more than one person who answers correctly, so you really have a fair chance of winning. The winning entries are put into something, and a drawing is held, daily. The winner will be the one who answered correctly and whose name was drawn. The questions are fun to me! It is free to enter, of course.
My way of buying Tahitian pearls is to buy through this channel, ACN. Their shipping is fast and secure. Your delight will be kind of a shock to you, when you realize what you have obtained for such a low price. Jewelry is as natural to me as walking. I've studied it all my adult life. I love this way of buying jewelry! It takes a while to understand how low their prices get, and remain totally expensive (normally), proud to own pieces. Take your time. Time will be so well invested, that you will be stunned.
Recommendation? Watch this channel for a few segments of different 'trays' of jewelry. Watch how the prices go down, and remember, if you called in before the price went down and ordered an item.......you will still only be charged the bottom dollar price! Try it!
