Over the last 15 years I have owned various phones and each one had it's good and bad points. I have had Cellular One, Bell South and AT&T, now I have Verizon which was highly recommended, that was my first mistake. I moved to Franklin, North Carolina in June 2000 which is mountainous. There were only 2 local phone providers so I choose Verizon because I was to do a lot of traveling and there was program that met my needs. I walked into Radio Shack (provider) with my Nokia 5120 and was told my phone wouldn't work (I didn't like the phone anyway). I wanted to upgrade to a Nokia 6000 series which is user friendly but was told they only provide a Nokia 5180. I told them I would purchase a Nokia 6000 elsewhere and was told I couldn't use it with their system so I had to buy another junky, not user friendly Nokia 5180.
I drove home 4 miles away and the reception was terrible and I was cut off constantly costing me minutes of wasted time. I was told that the reception in the mountains is poor. I travel between Atlanta, Ga and Raleigh, NC constantly and most of the time I am unable to have decent reception. I do get reception between Waynesville and Asheville.
Driving home yesterday the system was down. I had to make a phone call before I reached the dead zone which lasts 45 minutes of driving time, and I couldn't make an important phone call which was time sensitive.
Not only am I having problems with the cell phone but I also have problems with my Verizon home phone constantly. On both phones I get recordings ALL CIRCUITS ARE BUSY! and I'm paying for this?
Why pay for a phone I cannot use? Because I am locked into a year long plan which expires June (and it couldn't come quick enough).
My cell problems are - No Service Areas - Disconnections -
All Circuits Are Busy. At least Verizon is consistantly poor - my cell phone and home phone.
