The nuvaring does not block the cervix. It has the same hormones as a monophasic Pill, just delivered differently.

Weight gain and the Pill (Reply to this comment)
by cckk44
I just started the pill 4 months ago. I started on OrthoTricyclin but I had severe cramping, depression, and weight gain. I switched and have been on a new pill with a lower dosage. I have been on this one for 2 months but I feel like I've gained more weight. Besides that everything is back to normal. Will my weight ever go back down? I feel like I've tried EVERYTHING and I cant loose any of it. I'm tempted to just screw it and use protection. Any advice?

Great job on this review! You cracked me up as you educated me! Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a date with a flute.

hey there Tom. Not "on the clock" at the moment eh? I suppose Oreos, beer, a garden hose, and condoms would make a pretty interesting party. I'm not sure it's one I'd want to be at, but interesting nonetheless. Thanks for the r/r/c!

Peter(SMITHWOODSIDE) and Jeff(jps246) looked lonely in here with all you beautiful women so I thought I would join the party.
Speaking of parties, you said...
". He may come back with some odd assortment of beer, Oreos, a garden hose and the condoms."
Sounds like 'party gear' to me!
Very nicely done.

Well, I'm glad I was able to help, even if it was just a little! Not currently using protection eh? Planning on giving Miss Lillian a brother or sister for Christmas this year? LOL
My son's enough for me for now - I don't even want to think about having another one!! I'll have to look into this Nuva Ring...

I have been wondering about the IUD thing. I had seen it in a magazine article but to be honest - the pictures of how it sits in 'there' gave me the willies & not the good ones. And I know what you mean about condoms - it's SO difficult to go back to them after having unprotected sex while pregnant.
I also wanted to tell ya about an option you may want to check out i you haven't already - My obgyn suggested the Nuva Ring. Although it does secret the birth control hormones - which I am sensitve to - my Dr. assured me that it carried far less side affects (effects?) than the traditional pill. When I decide to start using birth control again, the Nuva Ring will definately be what I use (we've current quit using anything :>). It's inserted yourself and blocks the entrance to the cervix AND releases birth control hormones. You leave it in for 3 weeks, then remove it for your period. My Dr. said under his breath "If you leave it in for the 4th week you could very well skip you period all together - just be sure to change it after that...
Sorry for the long comment just wanted to tell ya.
Thanks for the info!
