This year was my first time ever to figure taxes on my own.
I decided to try doing it online with H&R Block. Things went slow but well enough till I got near the end and they said that they could not complete a certain form that I needed online and that I would have to download their software to complete my taxes. (They said they had mentioned this earlier--really?? Where???)
My taxes are simple and straightforward except for a couple extra needed forms.
I downloaded the software anticipating the ease of efiling and a quick refund. Again I was disappointed. When I was nearly done, a flaw in the software design left out a means to include some important figures on Form 4835. They however, did allow me to override their software with what I needed to do. However, in doing so, I lost the ability to efile. It was most disappointing to learn that I would have to print out the forms and snail mail them in.

I did find their help explanations adequate for my needs and simple to understand.
The price was right. I saved considerably over having someone do my taxes for me. Would I choose them again??-
Maybe, but I would probably go to epinions next time and choose the best software from other's opinions instead of relying on myself next time. (What didn't I think of that before?)
