My brother and I got these as presents to each other for Christmas last year. Since we live on opposite coasts we thought it would be fun to be able to actually see each other once in a while. We basically bought these because they were cheap (with a rebate). We got a great deal.

This camera has exceptional picture quality for a camera in this price range ($75). While, like any automatic camera, it's focusing abilities are limited, compared to many of the other web cams I've seen it does a great job.

It comes with enough software that you can start playing right away. Though their video phone is a bit of a pig as far as system resources go, it will get you moving immediately and there's plenty of free stuff out there. The software and camera are easy to setup. We got one for my mom this Christmas and she was able to set it up on her own...which says a lot.

My brother and I have DSL and cable connections respectively so while the picture was choppy definitely more tedious with my my mom's dial up connection but not nearly as bad as you might expect.

For the money, this is a good camera. If you want better quality you're going to be paying professional prices.
