I ordered a DVD Recorder by phone. Site had FREE ground shipping. I was charged 12.95 for FEDEX shipping. I feel I was taken advantage of by Beach for not being told of the shipping cost. I accept part of the blame for not making sure of the final cost before hanging up but I still think this is poor business. I asked the sales person if the $100 pioneer rebate form would be in the box with the DVD-R and he said it would. Of course it WAS NOT!! I downloaded a rebate form from another site and later found a place on Beach's site to download it. Regardless of that, I feel I was flat out lied to. The order was correct, the price was good and I received it quickly. I ordered from Beach in large part because of their good reviews. If I had not been lied to and charged shipping without my knowledge I would have been very happy with the transaction. Maybe doing business like this is the normal for companies today but I feel they can do better and should be made to. I don't know yet if I would do business with Beach again. I need some time to get over this purchase first.
