I've been a member at StartSampling for about two weeks now, and despite regular visits from me, and a modicum of effort on my part, I still have yet to actually sample anything.
The promise of the website is very alluring; you'll be offered to try a variety of different products that are uniquely suited to you for the sake of getting your opinions in return. That seems reasonable. The website is sleek, and gives the impression that there are actually some samples to be had. And maybe there are, its just that none of them seem to be intended for me.
I'll continue to visit the site for a while longer to see if I actually get anything. There are some favorable opinions here from people who have been very happy with the service. So with that in mind, I'll continue, at least for a little while, to try to Start Sampling.
My advice to you is to take the claims of the website with a grain of salt. Who knows, you may be a part of that peculiar demographic that companies seek data from, and thus be deluged with offers of free stuff to try. But if you're anything like me, you may be pining away for a specimen of anything, just so you can Start Sampling.
If anything changes in the modus operandi of the site, I'll update this opinion, and perchance add another star or two.
