What works...What doesn't
Apr 21 '01
The Bottom Line My recomendation is that you steer clear of the off brands. Then go for what works best for your child.
Okie-dokie you are on the search of the perfect diaper.Let's see what we can't come up with.
Cheap Off Brands:
These are definitely cheap for a reason. That reason being in my experience is they are little more protection than panties or undies. No one wants to wake their sleeping little one in the night to change a diaper. Then it is playtime, and parents are sleep deprived as it is.If you do not change the off brand diapers continuously, they leak something awful. In the end you do not save money,as it takes twice to three times as many to get the job done. Also, they put off an odd odor that is very noticeable, regardless of what "number" your baby has done.
Money Saving Suggestion:
Use these cheap diapers as training pants. They work as well as any fancy brand for this.To make your child feel like a big kid,put underpants over these in your child's favorite cartoon character.
Huggies_The Low Down:
These diapers come in many different styles and qualities. They are more expensive than most diapers. The best brand they put out is the supreme. The supremes are cottony without plastic tabs that eat at your babie's skin.
The down side is - they seem to only work well for boys.My son did wonderful in these diapers,as to where they leaked on my daughter.Other friends have made the same comment.
Pampers-To Buy or Not? :
Pampers are great diapers. They worked really well for my daughter, and pretty good for my son.All the series they put out are pretty equal to one another. The rash guard type seem to work well also.On deciding which kind to get,go on your own personal preferances.Usually, these diapers are a little bit cheaper than Huggies.
Luvs_Smart Decision? :
YES!Luvs worked really well for both my children. They usually run as much as three dollars cheaper than the national brands. The only down side to these diapers is that they only come in one style. So you don't get a choice but, if it works-Why fix what isn't broke?
On A Final Note:
Always buy the smallest size your child will fit into. The smaller the size the more diapers you get.
