The Bottom Line You should know any juice diet works.This one however has high heartburn ratio.Let me tell you a great alternative.
The only grapefruit diet I have been on consists of drinking grapefruit juice with everything you eat.It is combined with the "take a drink" diet(you take a drink before and after every bite you take-this makes you feel full quicker) and a two day fast.In the two day fast you drink water only and juice when you get hungry.I am not much on fasting , so this is hard for me.The diet is as simple as I have stated ,but there are two draw backs.
1.Terrible heartburn.This is a highly acidic diet.
2.Being as the diet is so acidic it actually causes most of it's users to develop bladder and kidney infections.It costs about $2o.oo to treat a bladder infection if you just have your doctor call in a prescription.
Does it work? :
Sure.Any diet will work if you drink mainly liquids for any specific amount of time.Once again though ,this is water weight loss.Water weight will always come back depending on the amount of salt you eat.You want to look skinny without giving up too much?You want to still eat without starving?Tired of the heart burn associated with grapefruit juice?Do this-
1.Upon rising drink a full glass of water with the juice of one lemon squeezed in.This has the same detoxifying effect as the grapefruit.
2.Eat a good breakfast about an hour after your lemonade.A good breakfast is -1 egg(cooked any way you like with a teaspoon of butter)1 glass of OJ (this has nearly as much burning power as grapefruit)1 slice of whole wheat toast(don't put butter on your eggs and you can have it on your toast)
3.Eat 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon per day.(these have the same burning effect on food as grapefruit)Eat it on fruit ,toast,or whatever sounds good.
4.Eat as much fruit as you like.The best for dieting is watermelon,any melon,strawberries,and fruit high in water content.
5.Drink your 8 glasses of water a day.I know ,I know ,but that is the main key to success.
6.Do not eat your biggest meal at bedtime.By about 7:00 p.m. the body slows down.
7.Last,lay off the salt however long you are dieting.It holds water and makes it hard if not impossible to loose weight.Eat what you want as long as it qualifies as salt free and healthy.You need some fat in your diet to live right,but any more than 2 tablespoons a day is more than what is needed.
If you would rather do the grapefruit diet-it does work.The diet above works as well,but is less restricted and has a smaller chance of killer heartburn.I lost 8 pounds in a week only gaining back 3 by my recommended variation.
