We have 7 cats (don't ask why, and no we won't get rid of any of them) and the new house we moved into a few months ago has very light, off-white berber carpet. With all these cats I spend a considerable amount of time cleaning up hairballs, and one cat likes to "scarf -n- barf" nearly every meal. Previously I relied on Resolve carpet cleaner to remove these stains, however I was never satisfied with the results. I picked up some Spot Shot on the advice of the salesman at Lowe's and have been pleased with the results.

Spot Shot is easy to use. Once you clean up any solid matter simply spray the product on the stain and blot with a white cloth. Note: if you are using paper towels, make sure they don't have a colored pattern or you will transfer the ink to your carpet. Occasionally I will still see a small portion of the stain left however this comes out when I shampoo the carpet. Without pretreating the stains with Spot Shot, the steam cleaner does not fully remove the stains. This product performs best if you can catch the stains while they are still "fresh". One other benefit of this product is it is quick to use, you don't have to let it sit on the carpet nor do you have to vacuum it up.

So far I have only used this product on pet stains, however we are expecting our first child in September so I'm sure I will be using it on many more stains in the future.
