| drick's Full Review: Hewlett Packard PhotoSmart 7960 Thermal Inkjet Pri... |
As Printer technologies become cheaper with advancements of technology, higher resolution and refinement, it is no surprise why printers are common in every home, office, network, school, and anywhere you happen to see a computer. The Hewlett Packard PhotoSmart 7960 printer brings a new realm of digital color printing to the home or small office. This printer has many features that are greatly becoming common in cheaper printers. At the same time, it differentiates itself as a elite inkjet printer with technologies that were once available for thousands of dollars years back, such as the 8 ink printing capabilities. So when looking to buy a new printer, take your time! HP is investing millions of dollars in it's printing division, so expect many new models to come out later this year.
So...about the HP Photosmart 7960
This printer is the predecessor to the Hp photosmart 7550, but it replaces that model with substantial upgrades.

Print technology
HP Thermal Inkjet
Print quality, black
-Up to 1200-rendered dpi black when printing from a computer
Print quality, color
-Up to 4800 optimized dpi (up to 4800 x 1200-optimized dpi color when printing from a computer and 1200-input dpi) This printer prints excellent pictures as a result of this large dpi.
Having Both Printers, the 7960 does the job when producing pictures from varius sizes up to 8X10. This printer has lazer quality text. The only complaint is the ink guzzling cartridges which are about 20 to 30 dollars each. This is quite a BIG expense for a printer that only prints 8X10 photos. Also, the cheap plastic quality and feel is quite demeaning for a printer of this price. Other than that, this printer is excellent for photo printing without a PC and with a computer.
