The Bottom Line Take care of the people you trust and they'll take care of you!
I don't often submit opinions in this sort of category, but the urge to make a mark here has presented itself today... Utilizing Your Web of Trust. What does this mean? I have read many views on this subject - some feel that your web of trust should be small, so that others don't feel that you trust "just everybody". Others feel that your WOT should be huge, to earn the "big bucks" (yeah right, like how many of us are in it for the huge fortune???). I have reached one conclusion: you should trust people's opinions who you feel are valuable and useful to you - this should include well written and well thought out opinions. If this is a large number of people, so be it. This does not necessarily mean that you throw around your WOT without any forethought. However, this brings me to something that has recently irritated me - DON'T PUT SOMEONE ON YOUR WEB OF TRUST ONLY TO DECIDE "NEVERMIND" LATER! I do actually give some thought to who appears on my list and find it mildly irritating to log on to discover that somebody has removed me without telling me why. I guess the most important thing to remember is to take care of the folks on your WOT - check every so often to see if they have written anything new and rate it accordingly. Now that our email alerts are back up and running this should be fairly easy to accomplish. Take the time to click the button to receive email when a trusted member writes something new! |
