I purchased two Ionic Breeze Quadra air filters to save electricity and save money on air filters.

My asthmatic wife nearly wound up in a hospital as a result. The ozone produced as a byproduct is mentioned in passing in the literature, but never did it suggest that ozone would reach noxious levels. Also, no usage density was suggested by The Sharper Image. At the time we were using two standard filters in our 1000 SF apartment. We replaced them with two Ionic Breeze air filters, and within two days we could both feel a burning in our throats and extreme unquenchable thirst.

After boxing the Ionic Breeze filters and airing the apartment, all symptoms went away.

The filters were effective and quiet, but the ozone produced is unacceptable for an indoor product.
