There is NO Customer Service at Nextel!

Pros: Reception is good when you are in range.
Cons: Plans are expensive There is no customer service at Nextel. Buyer Beware!
The Bottom Line: My experience with Nextel was a bad one. I do not recommend Nextel to anyone.

I did not buy from the overpriced Nextel outlet. I made the mistake of going calling Nextel "telesales" after having trouble buying my phones on the Nextel web site.
I was assured of having bought two new plans and phones. When an inquiry was made I found that I was "sold" a bill of goods. The sales agent sold me similar plans but not the ones that I had asked for (the plans that I had asked for included enough airline points for two free tripson southwest). They were limited time offers that are now expired.
It took me almost 20 phone calls before I was allowed to return my phones. I was put on hold for long waits, transferred to the wrong departments, hung up on, etc. I was treated like dirt by the "customer service" and especially by the "returns" staff. There are a bunch of charges that they claim that I now owe. I used the phones for less that one week. I was a happy Nextel customer for years, until now. Everything was good until I delt with nextel telesales and then "customer service" and "returns".
My argument was, "Nextel messed up, please give me the plan that I asked for and agreed to".
Their response was, "our sales staff signed you up for the wrong plan, so sorry, tough luck". Without returning the phones (at my expense) I am on the hook for two years.
I believe this to be a good example of "Bait and Switch". Do yourself a favor and stay away from these people.
