This is a great little mp3 player for the gym because it straps securely to your arm and is sweatproof. I have heard complaints about the headphones, but I find them to be comfortable and convenient, especially since the wires magnetically attach to clothing to be kept out of the way during activity. Since this model has 64mb memory, it only provides about an hour of music, which is enough for me, but probably not enough for most. However, if you intend to use it only for workouts, it might be sufficient for your needs.

Additionally, the sound quality is great and the design of the player makes it easy to change songs or the volume during activity. Another reviewer stated that the 128mb version of this player is unable to change songs during play, but I do not find that to be true of this player. Likewise, the transfer of songs to the player is fast and fairly easy to do.

However, this mp3 player is not as user-friendly as I would have liked. First, the user's manual is virtually worthless as it has only pictures and no actual instructions. Likewise, the software is somewhat helpful, but it is slightly hard to understand, especially for those who have little computer or technical knowledge.

Finally, for reasons that I do not understand, the mp3 player stopped working after three weeks and it had to be returned to the store for a replacement. Then, about a month after that, it stopped working again and it had to be sent back to Phillips. It was explained to me that somehow the player had been accidentally locked while it was off and could not be unlocked. I would consider this a major flaw because once the player is locked, it cannot be used and is worthless to the purchaser.

Since it was returned from Phillips four months ago, there have been no other problems with it. Hopefully there will be no more problems because I am now stuck with the player as it is no longer under warranty. Overall, I like this mp3 player, but unless Phillips/Nike has adjusted some the software and hardware flaws, I would think twice before buying it again.
