A good trance track should be full sounding, intelligent, and able to evoke emotion and warmth.

Some belting blood pumpin tunes in there! My top 10 would look a little like this:

1: Veracocha - Carte Blanche
2: Mauro Picotto - Lizard
3: Delerium ft. Sarah McLachlan - Silence
4: Blank & Jones - Cream
5: Binary Finary - 1999
6: Darude - Sandstorm
7: CRW - I Feel Love
8: Agnelli & Nelson - Everyday
9: Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar
10: Agnelli & Nelson - Hudson Street

Really hard to narrow down to 10 though! Let me know what ya think.

A truly amazing article Lisa, and I couldn't agree with you more. For me, listening to trance me is not enough, I have to feel it. A fantastic job.

Thanks for explaining the trance style music. Also, thanks for giving me an idea as to what to look for. I'm always considering listening to different music, and this would be a great one for me to listen to.

I'll have to try some of these when I d.j. Also I have a roland stage kit drum set and it is just incredible with hundreds of amazing sounds including actual real drum sounds, not processed. You can chock the electronic cymbals!

Trance is a bit hard to stomach. I do like the Robert Miles track you mentioned, but the rest of your choices don't do too much for me. Great write-up nonetheless and I look forward to reading your next lists!

Thanks,
I'm working on a breakbeat, Drum N Bass list right now. Then I will do an ambient, house, and acid list. I would love to read what other electronic music lovers on epinions like. So far, I've only read lists on the most mainstream dance music with picks such as Humpty Dance.

I bet there are more of us electronic music fans on epinions than you think. If you're trancey and you know it, clap your hands :)

Fantastic picks in this review!

I recognized only two names - Robert Miles and Faithless which I love. I stopped to buy trance tracks because there is nothing like going to a club and listening to a live trance jamming session...
