| michael3006's Full Review: 2004 Ford F150 SuperCab 4WD |
I have an 1987 Ford Ranger Supercab thats still going strong and I wanted a new fullsize 4x4 to haul all my stuff. I bought a 2004 F150 XLT Supercab with a decent amount of extras. I love the the truck it's big, when you go four wheeling through the woods hunting I have to be careful of the mirrors not as nimble as my Ranger and tall too. I think it is the most quiet vehicle I have ever driven! Very relaxing on long trips No vibration good sound system. The power seat adjusts every wichway there is excellent visibility from the side mirrors watch those narrow trails though! I have the 4.6 LT. engine plenty of power for me and I average 17.5 miles per gallon not to bad for a full size 4x4. I took it up a huge steep sand hill up north last week that I thought it would'nt climb I put the coal to it hard but darn if it did'nt get up it and the tires aren't that aggressive. It even has a power sliding rear window. Off road on the washboards I did get a slight hop in the back alot less than most other pickups I've driven It points and steers well and tracks true no darting surprises. I haven't had any problems yet. It is a little hard to see directly behind you out the rear window because the bed & tailgate are so high but the mirrors take care of that nicely. I like the design and component positions but I don't like how the front grill is attached to the hood if it's wet it drips all over you and the engine. I did hit a stump with one of the frame crossmembers that stopped me cold instead of bouncing off it caught a straight portion of the crossmember it needs to be angled a bit to prevent this. In closing it is a simple to operate well thought out good handling practical truck that I hope will last a long time its made here in the states and it is'nt priced to bad.
