What AVON does to FIGHT BREAST CANCER

The Bottom Line This is one of the greatest walks and I give Avon Kudos for making sure it happens every year.
Avon doesn’t only make and sell products they help make dreams come true.
Every year Avon has put together a charity event to Help fight Breast Cancer. It’s called the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day. The walk takes place all over the United States in 9 major cities. The walk is for 3-days, yes three days of walking. Each walk has a different distance but it’s usually around 60 miles (20 miles each day). Everyone can walk (age 17 and up). In order to walk each person must raise at least $1,900. It’s not as hard as it seems and Avon does a very good job of helping you raise the money.
Last year the walk raised 14.7 million dollars. The money that is raised goes to several places; research, awareness and help centers.
I had the greatest time taking part in this event. It changed my life; it changes everyone’s life who takes part. Each walk starts and ends with a ceremony that the public is invited to. And believe me theirs not a dry eye in the place (even the tough guys are crying). Your family and friends can also cheer you on during the walk. There are cheering sections set up along the three days.
This walk is set up like Disney world!! If something goes wrong they have a plan, if something doesn’t go wrong they have a plan. Theirs always someone there to help you out whether you’re sick or just need someone to talk to. The major idea of this walk is to find a kinder world. While you’re on the three-day it is a different world and you wish you could bring that gentle, kind world with you after the three days are done.
You have nothing to lose by trying this walk out. It may seem hard but if you put your mind to it anyone can do this walk … ANYONE. For example when I did the walk an 85-year-old man with a cane did this walk and raised the money. If he can do this walk than surly you can to.
