Overall, my experience with the web site for Avis was fairly positive. The response time was very quick. Other sites I used while pricing my car rental needs take a lot more time to calculate different options. Avis was "trying harder" than the others when it came to speed.
It is fairly easy to navigate through the website. You have several options listed on the left hand part of the page, to make an inquiry about a reservation. There are a few promotional messages cluttering up the right side of the screen, but some of them are actually interesting, and could be pertinent to your renting needs. Across the top of the site are tabs to link you to a renter's guide, detailed information about airline and hotel partners and what the points earned would be, etc.
I did have some mixed results trying to apply some of the promotional codes I had, but at the end of the day, ended up finding a better rate on Avis' web site than I did on any other car rental site (for this particular instance with the particular coupons I had...your experience might vary).
This review only focuses on the process of making the reservation and checking it afterwards to make sure it processed properly. I will post a review of the actual car rental experience on Avis' entry when the time comes.
Overall, a good experience, not perfect, but it seemed to get the job done, and that is good enough for me.
