I placed an order with Visual Apex for a Panasonic PWD6UY (42" ED plasma) monitor in late December 2003. During this time, retailers nationwide were experiencing sporadic supplies of this unit from Panasonic. As a result of the short supply and long demand for this unit at the time, I did not take delivery of the unit until early February of 2004.
While I was definitely anxious to get my monitor during this wait time, I know that Visual Apex did everything in their power to get me my plasma monitor as soon as possible without being unfair to other customers who had been waiting longer than I had. Their staff always provided accurate descriptions of where my order was in the queue. They were a model of firm and fair customer relations, with an emphasis on very clear communication. It's a testament to the extremely high level of customer service at Visual Apex that I never felt nervous about giving them my business - just anxious to get my new "toy"!
As an example of the level of service I am talking about, I made an inquiry about the status of my order in early January one afternoon. A Visual Apex rep called me back the next day saying that even though no one was in the office, someone would be sure to call me back as soon as possible. On top of that, they apologized no one was able to take my original call, but that the office had been closed when I called due to a snowstorm. Now that's service!
Ordering a big-ticket item like this over the internet can be intimidating, but I can honestly say I felt better at all points in the purchasing process with Visual Apex than I did with several of the "brick-and-mortar" stores I encountered while shopping around. The staff was always knowledgeable and never pushy. From top to bottom, Visual Apex made buying a large ticket item painless and anxiety-free.
