Pros: Wonderful speakers for high fidelity stereo and home theater.
Cons: Require good amplifier.
The Bottom Line: They are very musical speakers with easy placement in real home. Built quality is above average. Could be converted as active speaker that even sound better.

| GeraldLui's Full Review: Linn Tukan |
Beautiful but affordable speaker is very difficult to find. If you have desire to turn the living room into a hifi room or even worse a home theater but need the approval of the other half the most difficult to fit is the numerous speakers around the room. When I started my hobby with high fidelity stereo the first most transparent and enjoyable speakers I heard was the Tukan. However I did not buy them because those exotic looking shoulders high ones with their curvy cabinet and large cones caused too much temptation.
After some wandering years I decided to settle down and find speakers that I could live for many a contented years with. When I revisited the Tukan the magic of the first love is all still there. Everything came flowing back. I find myself enjoying the simple pleasure of listening to music again. Frequency response is unpretentious 70 to 20 kHz. This is a quality product. The high is sweet with no hint of artificial brightness. Vocals are realistic revealing even tiny emotion in the singer voice. The bass is not massive but solid and wonderful. Big and powerful sounding instruments like piano are reproduced with conviction. It has no difficulty playing back all dolby digital or DTS recordings with ease.
They are unpretentious in looks and easy to fit in real rooms. Placing them on the manufacturer stands they recommend between 2”and 12” from the rear of the speaker to the wall. Then place them at least 18” from the corners. A useful gadget is the barkit to mount them to the wall directly like for surround speaker placement. The wood finishes and built is wonderful. Suddenly I realize how smart and beautiful they have always been.
I finally brought them but only pay half of what they would be a few months ago. They will be replaced with another design due to changing needs. For once I will not be tempted again. I stick to my first love. By the way, in case you want to use the excuse based on the title of this review it does not work.
