Hello all. I hope all is well in your worlds. I have decided to write about EPINIONS_TITLES. I think this is a very important subject because I have noticed that I like to read a review or essay that catches my eye.I think many of us feel this way. I am definately not an expert but I think that it is nice to hear something from other points of view sometimes. I guess that's one of the many reasons that over a year ago I stumbled in to epinions and decided to stay.... There are many reviews and essays in EPINIONS , so sometimes they are hard to sort,which ones to read and rate or which to pass by.I hate to say I have passed a few by, and one of the key factors in this are the titles. When it comes to that , I look at many things. This is just a rundown of how I do this. 1.ORIGINALITY I like to see someone who puts thoughtfull and well put together titles that sums up the review in a few short , simple and original words. FOR EXAMPLE, I once saw a title that read BACKSTREET BOYS I thought,hmm I know the name of the group and that my six year old neice loves the BACKSTREET BOYSbut what does that say???I didn't think that was original.. I am sure you can see why.Then as I was flipping through more , I saw , BASKSTREET,BACK AGAIN,LOOK OUT MILLENIUM To me this was catchy and not only did the reviewer bring a BACKSTREET BOYS song in to "play" but also decided to cleverly include the name of the album they were reviewing.I am not a huge backstreet fan but I was buying the album for my neice for Christmas and I decided that I needed to see if it was appropriate for her, and to see some honest straight forward opinions on it. I am glad I ran across this review. It convinced me to buy it!!! That may not have happened in the review with the less catchy title,even if the review that had a plainer title was a great review, (which plenty have been),I wanted to get the information quickly,so I decided to go by which reviews caught my eyes. *note:These aren't the only reviews in this catagory I read , just an example. 2.NOT STEALING SOMEONE ELSE'S TITLES , EVEN MINUS A WORD OR TWO. I think that this is only respectful.I know that sometimes this happens accidently, but I have seen a few reviews that mentioned the names of the people they "borrowed" their titles from in their review saying , " I was reading this person's review and I decided to write my own..." Isn't that supposed to include title? I am sure that other person is flattered to be mentioned, but how flattering is plagerism? This might not happen intentionally , so I am not saying that at all. I am just saying PLEASE , don't "borrow too many words from a title." Let a title give you inspiration , yes, but abusing it isn't fair.Plus, in my opinion , which might not always be agreed with , isn't it better to express your personality in a title and review than someone else's?( I am saying all of this indirectly , and is in no way meant for anyone who reads this). I love reading , reviewing and writing EPINIONS and my titles can sometime's use a little fix or two and that is what I am going to be doing in the next few days.I m going to be devoting my time "renovating" all my titles and reviews. When I first started EPINIONS , I am ashamed to admit that I didn't care as much about how my titles and reviews were read as much as I do now.I am going to try harder from this point on.If you read my reviews and essays from this point on, I want brutal honesty, constructive criticism and hopefully,I can be "heard" more clearly. Titles are just one of the many things that makes an EPINION what it is. Since a title is seen first and that its self can make a big impact shouldn't it be as important and thought-evoking as the review/essay? Thanks to you all for accepting this writer's opinions. as a writer I try my hardest in all I write and from this day forward , I PROMISE that I'll try to be a better reviewer now and in the future.To all of you, I will be seeing your titles soon, and then shortly after your reviews.!
