My oldest son, Jeffrey, has had almost 9 years of experience with ear problems. He has had 5 sets of tubes, the first set being placed when he was only 18 months old. His last set being in April 2003. Due to all of his recurrent ear problems, he has a slight hearing problem. We have gone through so many times of "NO WATER IN THE EARS" that it has become a ritual for him. From taking baths, to swimming, he has always had to use some sort of ear plugs to prevent water entering the ear canal. Every time, the dr has said "Well, it looks like we need another set of tubes..." he hands us the Mack's Hot Orange Kid's Silicone Ear Plugs and we prepare for the small surgery, and then its done. We are so pleased with these little plugs that I had to write my opinion on them. So on with the basics, then I will give my final recommendation..What Does Mack's Have To Say About Their Product:
Mack's® Kid's Size Silicone Earplugs help prevent swimmer's ear by sealing out water and are designed to cover the ear canal and stay in place without the use of unsightly bands or bathing caps. Mack's® Silicone Earplugs have been used successfully for over 40 years by patients with ear tubes and for post-op applications. Mack's® Kid's Size Silicone Earplugs are waterproof, non-toxic, and moldable to fit any ear shape. Doctors recommend Mack's® Kid's Size Earplugs for sealing out water, reducing noise by 22 decibels, and to help relieve flying discomfort. Mack's® Kid's Size Earplugs are larger and safer than other kid's size earplugs to provide a better seal and accommodate all kid's ear sizes.

My Final Recommendation:
Since I have had hands on hands with using this product since 1996, I know a good product when I see one. I have used these several times in the last 8 years and have found them to be very easy to use, and Jeffrey is very comfortable while using them. I have also found that using a head band with these, helps keep them in place when he is swimming. Taking baths, there hasn't been any trouble keeping them in place. I highly recommend Mack's Kid's Silicone Ear Plugs because of the protection they provide. A definite 5 star rating from this happy mom!
