I can think of quite a few people who will not be so happy that I am giving the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish, a not so great review. But I have to be honest.
For me purchasing the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish was a big mistake and a waste of 5.99 in the super market. I tried it twice and did not like it either time. It was messy and gross. I made a really bad purchase and a dangerous one as well. Which I will explain below.
What I liked about the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish:
It smelled like oranges and I love that smell when it comes to cleaners. It's so much better then lemons or pine in my opinion.
Well thats all I liked about it. There was nothing else that I liked because even though it had made the coffee table and cupboards shine, it made them dull not to long after.
What I did not like about the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish:
Like I said, it looked like it had a brand new shine to it, then an hour later the shine faded away when the cleaner fully dried on. When I sprayed the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish onto the wood coffee table and the cupboards, I saw instant shine. But that was because the cleaner is so slippery and wet. I tried drying it off with a paper towel and it just smeared but would not dry, unless I waited for it to dry on it's own. It's not that I used too much of it, because I did not use much at all. Just one squirt because I wanted to see if it was okay before I used any more of it. But that one squirt would not dry off when I tried to dry it. That made me feel worried, mostly because I have a 17 month old daughter who love to glide her hands across wet surfaces. The surface of the table was wet and she saw it. I had to keep her in her room and call her back out when it dried. I felt like I was giving her a punnishment for no reason. But I had read the warnings, and was very afraid of my daughter touching the cleaner or getting it in her mouth, or eyes. So I had to keep her away from it.
When it did dry. After a long wait. I had noticed that, now that it was all dry it may have been cleaner, because it was washed with the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish, but it was still dull and had no shine at all.
I was upset by that because I had heard such great things about it. But it really worked lousy, and was NOT worth $5.99 for one lousy bottle. The market does not have a return on these items so I could not even get my money back, and the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish ended up being a total waste of time, effort and money.
The warnings are incredible, in a bad way. Listen to these and maybe you'll think twice about the product, I wish I had read the warnings before I bought it.
1. This product is combustible, repeated exposure to it can cause skin damage, cracking and / or dryness.
2. May cause respiratory tract irritation, head aches, dizzy spells, drowsiness, unconciousness and other central nervous system problems. Imagine that!
3. Caution: May be harmful if swallowed. Contains petrolatum distillates thickened to minimize aspiration.
4.If it gets swallowed you have to immediately call a Poison Control Center or a physician for advice, and you can not induce vomiting.
5. If inhaled, get fresh air right away. If breathing is altered get medical attention right away.
6. If it gets in your eye, flush your eyes imediately. Can cause burning, irritation to eyes.
7. If you get it on your skin, wash it off right away. It can cause harm to your skin, peeling, burning , cracking, and dryness.
With all those warnings, and the fact that it only lists the main ingredient " orange oil " on the bottle you'd think people would think twice about buying such a product. I made a big mistake in buying it. I didn't have any of the side effect or anything. But the fact that you CAN have those side effects, the fact that I have a small baby to worry about with those side effects, and the fact that it did not do half of what it claimed to do tells me it was a bad move to purchase it in the first place.
I had purchased the 16 oz. bottle of the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish. It is supposed to cut through grease and grime, condition the wood, get rid of wax build up, clean and revitalize. It cleaned but that was about it. I could have done that with Pledge with less risks and warnings.
The Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish is made for the following types of wood:
1.Traditional
2.Contemporary/Casual
3.Cabinets
4.Paneling
I strongly recommend using another product instead of the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish. It is un-safe and does not work as well as they state it does. It is not worth the money and the average furniture polish works just as well. It may not smell as good. But I would rather have my house safe and looking good. Rather then just smelling nice. I do NOT recommend the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner & Polish to anyone at all.
