Pros:Great sound, great price, expandable.
Cons:Large, not the best for workouts, battery life etc
The Bottom Line: If you want a great player that is flexible enough to last a while, give this a try.

I owned one of the 1st MP3 players released, did not use it much because of the limitations (memory, time to download)
It is nice to see how far they have come in a few years. The eGo outstanding. The biggest problem with it is size - almost twice as big as some of the other non-harddrive players. It is lightweight though so you can put it on your hit with the belt clip, but not the best for that. In all other areas it shines. Microdrive support, good menu system - I keep numerous different folders on my microdrive and can pretty easily navigate them. Sound is fantastic - especially if you are ripping your own songs at 164k, not using crappy napsterized songs at 96. Very good for your car, comes with all you need to use it there. The little speaker it has is a nice touch - not for audiophiles but it is decent for spoken word or to have playing in the background. I have not used the extras yet - voice email and other things but they look decent. They seem to update their software often and my dealings with the company have been great so far. I recommend buying the version with no included memory - only $109. You can pick up a 340 MB microdrive for 250 or go get a 128MB flash card for around 140 at some places. The future expandibility of this makes it a great bargain and a damn good player.
