Thanks for the compliment.

The Maxima is a much more unique car, no doubt about that. As I state in my review, it's somewhat like a Japanese Pontiac Grand Prix. Far more pizzazz than an Accord.

You certainly do your homework, when giving opinions about other cars in relation to this one. Thanks for that, even if I don't agree with all of them. That's not why you write them anyways, is it?
I thought long and hard about the Accord, and drive it a couple of times, and my wife drove it also. What it came down to ultimately for us was "boring". The Accord has no sex appeal.. Bought a Maxima instead, which not only has sex appeal, but is GRRREEEAAATTTT to drive. As a current owner of the previous generation Accord, and having just sold a '96EX Accord, I was looking for something that felt new and different. I went back to the Nissan product, because Nissan created a new Maxima with this 6th gen model. Honda of course continues to refine it, gets 40 more horses from the same size V6 as my previous gen one has, firms up the seats, etc. but it's just another Accord at the end of the day. Which is good enough for most people I suspect. Darn nice cars. Again, that for the nice review

Ugh... that rear end! (Reply to this comment)

Great review on the newest Accord, but I have to disagree with you about the rear half of the Accord. You stated that Honda's styling "adds visual heaviness to its derriere", but I contend it's a terminal case of "Buick Butt". Every past Accord has been either sporty looking or refined, this model just looks fat.

I'm assuming Honda is going after defectors from Olds and Buick, but they will alienate their current customers if they continue with this look.

Very comprehensive review and hope Honda decides to change the styling of the Accord.
