Well it's that time of year again. The time of year that takes time and energy to get all of my Spring cleaning done. Shampooing my carpet, scrubbing down walls and woodwork, cleaning blinds along with other cleaning tasks that needed to be thoroughly cleaned.

This also includes cleaning the outside of all of my kitchen cabinets. Of course I usually clean my my cabinets not only in the Springtime, but several times throughout the year. My kitchen cabinets are the ones that really gets the most grease and grime build up from cooking. Because the drawers and handles of the cabinets are opened constantly they can also become a little dirty over time also.

I've used several kinds of cleaning products to clean my wood cabinets. You name it and I've probably have already tried it. But I really like the job that Orange Glo Wood Cleaner& Polish does to my cabinets. I find that I don't have to clean them as often. I also find that the Orange Glo seems to keep the cabinets cleaner longer and I don't see as much dirt accumulated around the drawers or the handles.

The Orange Glo Wood Cleaner&Polish comes in a plastic 16 ounce spray bottle. I've also seen it in the 32 ounce size also, and can be purchased in most super markets. I paid $4.99 for the 16 ounce size.


DIRECTIONS FOR USING:

When applying the Orange Glo I applied it first to a soft cloth and then rubbed the cloth over the surface. After waiting about 30 seconds I continued to wipe off any excess Orange Glo. Then with a little rubbing I got a nice clean shine. If you have a heavy wax build up like I had the first time I used the Orange Glo on my kitchen cabinets, I had to apply the Orange Glo a second time and instead of waiting 30 seconds I waited for 3 minutes before rubbing the Orange Glo to get a lustrous shine.


One thing though, when using the Orange Glo on any wood surfaces, it should always be applied in the direction of the grain.


I love the smell of the orange fragrance while I'm using it. The first time that I used the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner&Polish a while ago, I cleaned every piece of wood furniture in my whole house, including the kitchen, living room and bedrooms, all in the same day. I love the smell of orange, but the orange smell was overwhelming and I didn't realize that I should have used proper ventilation in each room when I used it. So much for not reading the label, and I know I should have known better. Now when I use the Orange Glo I always make sure that the windows are open. This way the orange smell still makes my room lightly scented with that great orange fragrance and isn't harmful to my health.


WARNING FROM THE LABEL:

Because The Orange Glo does contain Petroleum Distillates it should always be used in a well ventilated room, because excessive inhaling of the vapors or prolonged contact with the skin may be harmful. It should always be kept up and away from children and pets also. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call a physician. This is a combustible mixture and should be kept away from heat and flame.


My kitchen cabinets seem to collect the most grease, food spills and moisture than other rooms in my house. I've found that the greasy soil from cooking will come off more easily if I don't allow the grime to build up too long. Usually every couple of months I will give my cabinets a quick cleaning with the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner&Polish.


The Orange Glo Wood Cleaner&Polish cleans a lot of types of wood. Take my wooden kitchen table for instance. My table is long and is a made of dark pine, along with 2 chairs and 2 long benches. Even though I do use place mats, the dark pine does show smudges and marks easily, especially when the grand kids are over. I use to use a table cloth on the table, but my husband prefers the pine wood finish to show. Since I've been using the Orange Glo on the table, it seems to repel fingerprints and smudges, and I only have to take a "Lightly Damp" paper towel or sponge every now and then to clean off my table. Before I was always polishing it with furniture polish to keep it looking clean.


Over the years I've always polished my living room end tables and coffee table with furniture polish, and I've always assumed that my wood furniture was clean. But by using furniture polish all the time, I've just been covering up dirt without actually cleaning it. My furniture always had a nice shine, but I did find out I was just covering the dirt up with polish.


The first time I used the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner& Polish on my wood furniture, I knew I had a build-up of wax from using furniture polish on all of my wood tables because, after applying the Orange Glo to the wood, the cloth that I was using had turned a slightly brownish color. I had to apply the Orange Glo a few more times, until my cloth finally came out clean. Now all of my tables are free of polish and wax build-up.


Since I've been using the Orange Glo on all of my wood furniture, I can actually see a difference in how my furniture looks. It did remove all of that old build-up grime that wasn't visible to the eye. Now my furniture has more of a lustrous shine, and it seems that by using the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner& Polish it has made the grain on all of my wood furniture stand out more then when I was just using the furniture polish.


I have a coffee table that is made of dark pine. Pine wood is a soft wood, and over the years it does have some minor scratches from the grand kids. The grand kids use my coffee table for doing puzzles on, coloring in their coloring books and they also play a few games on it. I don't mind the few scratches on it, because my home is decorated in a county style, and the scratches just add a country touch to the table. Anyway after using the Orange Glo Wood&Cleaner on the table, I noticed that some of the minor scratches have disappeared some.


The Orange Glo Wood Cleaner&Polish is not recommended for use on any wood floors, due to the risk of slipping and falling, and should not be used on any porous or acrylic plastic surfaces. As with any cleaning products the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner&Polish should be tested on a inconspicuous area before using on any surface.


CLEANING THE BATHROOM CERAMIC TILE:

I have used the Orange Glo on my ceramic tile. It does a great job on keeping soap scum down to a minimum on the tiles. Now I have used several bathroom cleaners on my ceramic tile before. But I found that using the Orange Glo on the tile, I don't get as much soap scum build up on the tile. It seems that when the water from the shower, slides off the tile, most of the soap scum just goes with it. It also keeps my ceramic tile looking nice and shiny.



MY FINAL THOUGHTS:

I've found that by using the Orange Glo Wood Cleaner&Polish, it does everything it promises and more. It cleans away dust, grime, grease and polish build-up, and reveals my wood furniture to it's natural beauty, while leaving a light lasting scent of fresh orange as it cleans and polishes. The Orange Wood Cleaner&Polish doesn't leave any wax build-up, like most furniture polish does. As long as you use proper ventilation while using the Orange Glo Wood Cleaning&Polish it's safe to use and gets the job done. Give it a try and you too will see a difference on all of your surfaces as well.
