| champ306's Full Review: 2004 Toyota 4Runner 4WD |
After months and months of researching, studying and wondering what truck or SUV to purchase, I kept coming back with one final answer, the Toyota 4Runner. Yes, if you are looking for something with a ruggedness that you can use like a truck, but have it enclosed, you found your machine. I have never been happier with a purchase of a new vehicle as I am with this, buying a Toyota and knowing that you are getting something that was designed properly, has great features and retains most of its value is a great feeling. The interior of the Runner is well thought out and useful, also, it fits larger people that are sometimes forgotten when too many suv's are designed around soccer moms. Do not get me wrong, the wife can find her home behind the wheel as well, just that you can be assured that on a long trip you wont be jammed in there either. The double decker cargo system, very handy, the storage in the back wall, again, very nice touch. Controls and displays, very well thought out and lit up, easy to use cockpit, informative, and the sound system seems to rock just fine, I have the base system, not the uplevel JBL. The mirrors in the corner at the back of the cab are handy at walmart with grandma blazing up the lane when you are looking to back out. Its a tool you can use, which seems to be the logic behind this truck. The outside styling I love, no complaints from me on that one. Everyone thinks different, so overall styling is hard to please everyone. The V8, worth it, the V6 works more, and with the 8 you have torque, with that it rips. This SUV is fun to drive, I absolutely love it. If you want something that can tow, haul, get dirty, take off road, then go to your local Toyota dealer and pick one up. To boot, you get a high resale value, long term value in that it would be rare to break, and peace of mind knowing you have a true SUV.
