We frequently facilitate conferences and training workshops all over the state, and having a reliable computer projector is a must. I have used a number of other projectors, including an older Proxima Panel projector and an older InFocus model. Both were fine when we bought them, but we needed a projector that could display high resolutions in large rooms that was also portable. After surfing around, I decided on the Proxima LX2 as it met all of my criteria. I also had a chance to use the lower model LS2 on a number of occasions, so I was familiar with the products.
The projector is really great if you travel a lot as it is nice and compact. It is easy to set up, and it is easy to use the menus to adjust the settings if needed. One thing I would recommend is that the softside carry case is purchased at the same time as the projector. The case provides a convenient way to transport the unit and all the cables and provides some protection from bumps.
The projector is really bright, and easily fits the bill for a large conference room. The zoom feature is really nice, but if there is one drawback it is that I would like to see a greater zoom range. There have been a few times that I would have liked to be able to blow the screen up more than the projector would allow. This isn't a big deal, but if you are in a large room and have to set up close to the screen, you may be stuck.
We have had the unit for about a year, and have yet to experience any problems. I do make sure that the unit is clean, and I pull out the dust filters and clean them out periodically to make sure it won't overheat from lack of air circulation.
