WeaKnees has an extensive offering around TiVo upgrades. You can not only get the hard disks, compatible and and pre-formatted for all available TiVo models but also accessories such as advanced cooling kits and mounting material.
I have bought a 160 Gig drive Tivo add-on upgrade including WeakNees advanced cooling kit and drive bracket on WeaKnees.com.
The web site is clearly arranged, and nicely guides the user through the selection of the TiVo model you own and makes sure you can only purchase upgrades that are compatible. Suitable accessories are offered, too.
Response time of the web site is very good.
Overall, it took me about 5 minutes to order the upgrade kit, and my order arrived 5 business days later using standard ups ground shipping. (Other delivery options, such as next day are available, too).
Installation was easy and instructions were clear, and I was very happy with the product.
After two weeks, my TiVo crashed and was not working any more at all. I called WeaKnees, and they were very courteous and instantly emailed me instructions for a repair order.
Surprisingly, after calling the 1-800 number, I was NOT confronted with a menu-selection a-la '1-800-get-lost' but I instantly had a person on the phone who not only could speak clear English and did not appear to have chewing gum in his mouth, but also turned out to be competent and he could even look up my order although I did not have my order number.
I was instructed to pull out both drives of my Tivo and send them to WeaKnees (I had to pay the shipping). It turned out that it was not a problem with the drive they sent me. Nevertheless, they re-formatted both drives (including my original TiVo drive) and sent them back to me free of charge. After one week, the TiVo works fine again.
I find it remarkable that my repair order was handled promptly, free of charge, and the problem was actually resolved even though the fault was not on WeaKnees side.
Bottom Line: Easy to use web site, delivery as promised, outstanding customer support!
