The River House in Fort Lauderdale is an excellent brunch location. Great for Sunday or holidays The River House serves and affordable, extensive, and delicious meal in an excellent location with the perfect atmosphere for families or romance. I have had brunch at the River House three times in the last year, a standard Sunday, Easter and Mother's Day. On each of these occassions I was with both family and friends, including my toddler daughter. ALL of us ate until, well you know how brunch is. Brunch prices were approximately $25 per person, excpet for my daughter who ate free. The spread included both breakfast and lunch items, both hot and cold. Highlights included: lox and bagels and breads, omelette station, eggs benedict, waffles and french toast( seperate occasions). Standard you say, well some items. By the French toast and waffles were both coated in the most delicious syrups awith fruits and nuts. Luch foods included: sushi, a wide assortments of salads, possibly up to a dozen, carribean roasted pork, baked salmon, lamb, turkey and ham which were al succulent. Gratin vegatables and grain dishes were excellent as well. But most of all were the freshly baked fruit tarts to top it all off. The location is worth the money itself. Located on the New River between the Performing Arts Center and River Walk, you can eat indoors or out, from ground level or above where you can people and boat watch during your meal. I prefer winter and spring visits as the weather is still cool and there is a nice breeze near the river. Wait staff have always been helpful and curteous and quick, but not hurried, to clean you dishes and replace silverware. Brunch at River Walk is worth every cent. I think what pleases me most is I take my daughter and it is one of the few restarunts she eats at, the food is family friendly as well as top-class delicious.  |
