Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
I have been waiting to see this film for such a long time and when I heard that my job (the library ) had gotten two copies, I ran to check it out. I will the the first to say that to me, Pulp Fiction was Tarantino's best film but after seeing Kill Bill, I stand corrected.
The first thing that struck me about the film was the mystery that was build up around The Bride. Within the first few minutes of the film, you are meant to feel the pain that can only come from being betrayed by people you thought were your closet friends and then left for dead by someone you at one time loved. Although I figure that she would get her revenge, I didn't expect her go about it the way she did.
I like the way in which the film provided background into the how each member of the Death Force Five came to be the way they were. My first favorite part of the movie takes place during the fight sequence between Thurman and Fox when Fox's daughter comes in after school and Fox and Thurman act like everything is okay.
I think what surprised me about this film was the different ways in which Tarantino decided to tell this story. By mixing black and white shots along with anime, this all combined together to form a film that I couldn't stop watching. Everytime I thought I knew which direction was going, it went somewhere completely new. The only problem that some may have with this film is the excessive amount of blood that is shed within the course of the film.
All throughout the film, people are dying. Not only are they dying, they're getting killed in extremely horrible ways. For those of you who really must get a glimpse of what I mean, some get killed by having limbs (arms & legs) cut off, others die by having their heads cut off, or sometimes, they are even cut in half. Real nice stuff huh?
While the film may not appeal to some because of violence,I really enjoyed the film and I will definitely watch it again.
