Death could be lurking in you own backyard!

Look at photos of poisonous plants online or in a book, knowing a certain plant is poisonous is useless unless you know what it looks like!

You're gonna tell me any number of kids is going to be playing around a bush like that and not eating at least the buds, if not the flowers? HORSE HOCKEY!

I have a friend who lives much like a hermit and is very anti-social. He lives in the center of a huge oleander bush and I'm concerned that , although he has little contact with the foliage , he could be experiencing health problems caused by being surrounded by it. Is this possible? Please reply. Thank you

Okay, you successfully scared the crap out of me. I will now search my yard for any foliage which could harm my pooch.

Never even thought of this threat before-- thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Yes this whole experience was terrifying but we did learn from it. It's amazing now how often I see this plant in the most undesirable places! Glad it was helpful!

Great information...... there are so many plants that are dangerous! Most don't realize it. I was stunned when I viewed the lengthy list provided to in-home day care providers!

It's nice to see that you're back, writing again for Epinions! You've got some catching up to do!
I didn't know about these plants, either. I think we're a little safer here, in Ohio, when it comes to toxic plants because of the climate. The only really toxic things around here are the political leaders!
Anyway, it's good to see you back!

A Must Read for Everyone (Reply to this comment)

I didn't know that this plant was poisonous. Thanks so much for the information. Could be very valuable for people who are looking to buy a house. I never thought to look at the shrubs in the yard and check to see if they were poisonous!!! We have our yard sectioned off so the little ones can't get to any of the bushes, but that wasn't done for that reason. We did this to keep the dog away from the area of yard where the kids play.

Thanks for the info!!!
