This Store is By Far the Worst I Have Ever Experienced!

On February 15, 2004, I did two very awful things. I ordered 2 faceplates for our Nokia 3586i phones from Elite Wireless Products (www.elite-wireless.com). The second awful thing I did was ordering without checking Epinions.com first.
We spoke to our local cellular phone representatives and they informed us that even though there are not very many faceplates specifically named for the Nokia 3586i phones, the faceplates for the Nokia 3585 will work just fine.
Because both of our phones are exactly the same color, we needed to be able to identify them. After searching throughout the vast items on the Internet, Elite Wireless had what were looking for. They did offer a large variety of items. We both had found faceplates that we liked.
The prices were very reasonable. The price for faceplate I ordered was $9.99 and his was $10.99. They offered free USPS shipping, so that saved us $3.99. A nice deal, huh?
Well, that is about where it ended.
After 2 days of the order, they charged my credit card for the entire price of the order. Now, I know that the USPS shipping takes 3-5 days. I received the ONE faceplate about 2 ˝ weeks later. Wow! They charged my credit card for the order and hadnt even shipped it. Reputable companies charge your credit card upon actual shipment.
Where is the second one? It was on backorder. Backorder? And they charged my credit card? Again, reputable companies dont charge you until actual shipment.
2 weeks later, we received the package with the second faceplate in it. Let me tell you, he was certainly mad when he opened the package that contained his faceplate for his cell phone. It most definitely was not the one pictured that he ordered. To add to his further dismay, it wasnt even for his cell phone. The cell phone it fits was a completely different model number.
I returned to their website to find out what I needed to do to return the item. On their website is a Return Order Form. You have to complete the order form, return the item unopened, and in the original packaging that they mailed it to you. They offer a 15-day Money Back Guarantee.
So, I complete the form. We repackaged it identical to the way it was sent took it to the post office and resent it. Of course, we had to pay to return the wrong item. At this point, I wasnt complaining too much because we did get free shipping to begin with.
At the end of March, I was only slightly ticked off because of their inadequacy of charging credit cards before they actual ship items.
But, now it is almost the end of May. I am beyond ticked off.
I have sent 5 emails to Elite Wireless. I have sent a fax of the emails I have sent when I sent the 3rd email. Guess what? I have received absolutely NO response from them.
What gripes me even more is that Yahoo! has them listed a secure Yahoo! shopping merchant. WHY? WHY? I have done plenty of business with Yahoo! merchants and have never had a problem. Their inclusion into the Yahoo! certified merchants is what made me purchase from them in the first place. Today, I filed a complaint with Yahoo! under their Buyer Protection Program.
Because I know a little bit about the law, I also informed Elite Wireless that because they sell goods, they are in violation of the Sales Article of the Uniform Commercial Code. Do you think that even gets their attention? Oh heck no! I doubt they even know what that means. If you are a merchant, you most certainly should know what that means.
The Sales Article of the UCC protects consumers and other merchants. Under the UCC, a merchant is required to deliver perfect tender of the items ordered. There are a vast number of protections under this law, but I will not dwell on them here, since this is a review of Elite Wireless Products.
Because of their lack of attention to the emails and the fax, I have resorted to contacting my credit card company to dispute the $10.99 charge. Maybe they will have better luck with them. I will certainly update this review if matters are resolved or with further details.
I have read other reviews on Epinions.com that also deal with the awful customer service issue. One reviewer mentioned that when speaking to a customer service representative, she was told to F#@$ Off. Well! Maybe I will call them. I wouldnt advise them to speaking to me in such a manner on any day, but a bad day would be even worse. Hmm
.there is an idea
If I pay for something, I want what I pay for. What I dont want is unordered goods, my money kept, and no response to customer service complaints.
