What About Talent...... (Reply to this comment)
by genegina
In the 80's musicians actually had talent with all that "hair". It was fun, fast and sexy. Now you don't need talent, everything is computerized and high tech;all you need is the willingness to strip down to your butt-crack and the ability to mimic indigenous African-Native hip jerking, then your synthetic-voice can be mixed right in.
Music videos are more into promoting sex than music...way to go Beyonce-Britney followers. Look what its teaching the girls of today, "Strip while you karaoke and get rich"...and they thought Madonna was scandalous in her day. Today, Madonna is "like a virgin" in comparison, which really doesn't say to much for the 2000 era of slut-porn music videos, simulating masturbation...and guess what I am not in my 40's stuck in the past. I'm 25 and just know good music.

I love this music. I probably also would have considered Dokken, Ratt, Whitesnake and Def Leppard(If you consider them a hair band).

Thank you all for the comments, yeah I love those days, and livin on a pray is a awesome tune.. I am so glad they didn't get the big "bomb" like most of the "hairdo" groups did after so many gret albums.
I'm glad I was able to take you all on that great journey to the past and relive some of our great music bands.!!!
May they LIve on in our hearts and memories.

Yeah, but can you believe that "Livin on a Prayer" is now being called a "classic rock" song? Whoa...I feel old. Classic used to mean the Beatles, Zepplin, the Stones. I can't believe that my favorite band is now called classic. HAHAHA-time to go drink my Ensure.

You just took me on a glorious trip through Jr. High School. I loved those bands! Man, I miss the days of hairspray rock. And that drummer for Slaughter was HOT!

...did my ripped off write-off entry inspire your list? Regardless, I dug it. I'm extremely fond of these bands and the period of time in which they ruled the radio. Ah, the memories...
Thanks for sharing your exuberance for Hair Metal. I know the feeling... trust me.

I miss this type of music. I was so excited the other day when I was flipping channels and cable access was playing Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer". I cranked up the volume! :) This music was the best. Thanks for the memories!
