Horrible customer service. Avoid like the plague!

Pros: Phone works, good signal strength, free incoming and long distance, no roaming.
Cons: Really, really bad customer service and policies.
The Bottom Line: Choose another company or hope like heck you don't have to deal with customer service especially if it's a billing issue. Seems they only want your cash, not loyal customers.

Worst "customer service" on the planet. Ordering online is easy. Then hold on while they jerk you around as much as possible. Inept staff set up my account wrong AND charged me a $500 deposit in error. Still waiting to get my money back since Feb. 04. Also was charged twice for one phone, which seems to have been corrected. They transfer you around to various departments, and once I was told to hang up and call back and ask for a certain department to "request" my refund due me! The few who have tried to help me can't get around ridiculous company policies and procedures. They also have no internal follow-up. A reps request gets denied, but it doesn't go back to that rep to amend, it just sits in their computer as denied/rejected. The customer has to call to follow up continually and start over with a new rep. Most times I am on hold forever before a "live?" person answers. I am stuck with them for 9 more months, then am done with this company. Chose Nextel in the first place because of great coverage especially at home where I run a home based business. My husband couldn't get a signal at home until his company switched to Nextel. Other providers are increasing their coverage, so hope I can find one to switch to by then. From the looks of the reviews on this site, that may prove difficult.
