Ease of Use:  
Pros: Price, image quality, reliability, speed.

Cons: Flimsy carriers for mounted slides. Supplied software (buy Vuescan instead).

I've earned a large part of my living from my photography since 1987 and I bought the Acer Scanwit 2720S so I could put my negs and slides onto CD. I use Vuescan software rather than the supplied Miraphoto.

This unit has given faithful service for about three years now and was an absolute bargain. It is fast and the quality is excellent (especially from negative film). Almost all my images go out to publishers as scans now -- either on CD or by e-mail -- and all generated by the 2720S.

The only criticism I can make is of the flimsy carriers for mounted slides. However, in practice, the lugs breaking off doesn't make any difference to operation of the scanner.
