Cons: Very limited photo ability. 4x6 max
The Bottom Line: If you're Joe and Joan Consumer with a $200 digital camera and Tommy and Mary who need to print out essays for school, its great. Otherwise save up.

| drfardook's Full Review: Epson Stylus C82 Inkjet Printer |
So you've gone into the computer superstore and hit the little print button which turns out a bright, colorful, non-banded photo print out of the little bugger. Wow you think, its like under $100 and this photo looks great! Stars fly from your eyes as you remember the days of dot matrix printers with those filthy ink ribbons. Isn't technology something? Even my meager pittance of a salary can afford professional looking photos.
Then you get it home, print out web pages, reports for business and school, and you're happy. Then one day you try to print out a high quality color corrected photograph from photoshop and the muddy highly banded result makes you want to wipe your rear with the result as fury spreads through your system at the memory of that perfect photo falling into the tray of the C82 in the store.
Try to remember some guy at Epson corporation who spent five days optimizing that photo. You don't suck, the printer does. At photos at least.
This is a great little printer for the student or light home use. Do not buy into the almost professional photo hype. Its not. The photos come out banded and the colors are always ten shades darker than your calibrated monitor would suggest. Photos with light or white backgrounds turn out much better than ones with black or dark backgrounds. Unfortunatly I take a lot of band photos so most of my shots are black.
If you want photos... go to a photo lab or lay out the $1700 smackers for the Epson 4000
